Shaka Destin

We just couldn't pass up the opportunity to share this amazing 'Shaka' handmade ornament made by one of our Paddle Destin Facebook friends, Bob Diehl. Bob loves SUP'ing just as much as we do, and in his spare time he gets busy crafting new designs for his special customers.

I had the opportunity to meet Bob and his lovely wife last year as they made a visit to Destin, Fl. Bob lives in Kentucky and he crafted the trophies for the GUSU Stand Up Paddle Classic Race series last year so he came to deliver some trophies and actually caught the last race and paddled with us. Between the woodwork and cruising on the water Bob stays pretty busy and we're looking forward to seeing him again real soon on the beautiful Emerald Coast.

Bob also made us this amazing Paddle Destin ornament.

Krewe De SUP Destin

On Saturday, February 4th, 2012, the Paddle Destin crew hit the Destin Harbor to ring in Mardi Gras on their 'Krewe De SUP' float. The float was stocked with beads galore along with t-shirts, trinkets and an overload of candy to entertain the crowd. Thousands of spectators watched the Krewe De SUP roll by, and we just had to be ourselves and let the good times roll. This group always has a great time when they get together, and celebrating Mardi Gras on the Destin Harbor was no exception.

Big THANKS goes out to Marine Max in Destin for allowing us to store our float and decorate it at their location, and to BOTE Boards and GUSU Paddlesports for the use of their stand up paddle boards on the float. We definitely appreciate all of our supporters and we look forward to meeting many more on the water this year.
